KCPT Announces New Board Members
(KANSAS CITY) KCPT, Kansas City Public Television, announced new additions and officers to the station's Board of Directors at an October 9 annual meeting.
Outgoing Chairman Larry Hawks praised Board members and cited numerous examples of success from the station's previous year. Hawks also praised President and CEO Victor Hogstrom for his continued success during his second year at the helm of KCPT.
Hogstrom expressed his enthusiasm for the Board and staff.
"Much of KCPT's success is due in no small part to the hard work, vision and energy of our Board of Directors. We also have a fantastic staff and I'm proud to work with each of them," Hogstrom said. "Our Board members are advocates and ambassadors of KCPT. They are also leaders in the economic, cultural and educational growth of our community, and they recognize the value of Kansas City Public Television," he concluded.
New Chairman Jay Meschke welcomed new Board members including:
- Don Montague, Chairman and CEO of MMG Worldwide
- Greg Reid, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of YRC
- Shani Tate Ross, Director of Communications and Marketing for Sprint Center/AEG
- Bill White, Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications of Sprint Nextel
- Bernie Wilson, Vice President of Outreach and Business Development at H&R Block
New officers include Chairman Meschke, President of EFL Associates; Vice Chair Tracy McFerrin Foster, Foundation Executive of the Hall Family Foundation; Treasurer Peter Yelorda, Executive Vice President/Chief Administrative Officer of Blue Cross Blue Shield; Secretary Ann Regnier, civic volunteer and Immediate Past Chairman Larry Hawks, Principal of GrowthPoint Partners.
Current Board members elected to a second three-year term were civic volunteer Gregory Glore, Allan Hallquist, attorney with Blackwell Sanders and Tracy McFerrin Foster.
Outgoing Board members were honored, including former Board Chair Joanne Collins, Carol Cowden, Peggy Lyons, Kathleen Moore, Keith Pence and former Board Chair Steve McDowell.
A report from KCPT's Community Advisory Board Chair Lois Meyer and a video retrospective of the station's activities from the past fiscal year were also presented.
All KCPT Board of Directors meetings are open to the public. The KCPT Community Room is located at 125 East Thirty-First Street, Kansas City, Missouri, 64108. Meetings are held monthly except in August. A complete meeting schedule is available at www.KCPT.org .
KCPT is a non-profit corporation operating both analog and digital Channels 19. A volunteer Board of Directors helps guide the station's initiatives and activities. A 15-person Community Advisory Board reviews the station's programming goals and services and offers guidance to the staff in effectively meeting the specialized educational and cultural needs of the Kansas City metropolitan area.
