KCPT Presents: Box Office Weekend

Campaign features special programs and exclusive ticket offers for concerts and shows

(KANSAS CITY, Mo.) — Are you looking for some entertainment and inspiration? Look no further. This weekend, KCPT is going beyond the broadcast to bring national and international talent to the community. The station is thanking its members for supporting public television by offering the opportunity to attend two concerts.

When community members call in this weekend to pledge to support the station, they will be rewarded with concert tickets to their choice of performances. Viewers making pledges of support to KCPT during the drive may choose tickets to many great concerts and shows coming to town.

The concert series includes KCPT Presents: Yanni-Voices, Tuesday, June 9 at 7:30 p.m. at Sprint Center. Yanni's world-class orchestra from around the globe and his four new "voices" will deliver an energetic, hypnotic and enchanting concert experience.

The series also includes KCPT Presents: Celtic Woman — Isle of Hope, Friday, June 26 at 8 p.m. at Sprint Center. Celtic Woman is returning to Kansas City with a new concert. KCPT invites the community to join them for an unforgettable evening of popular, classical and traditional Celtic music performed by five talented Irish ladies.

"Tickets to these events are exclusive to KCPT as the performing artists' way of supporting public television and thanking members for contributing to KCPT," says KCPT Vice President for Development and Community Partnerships Bonnie Rabicoff. VIP seating and "Meet & Greet" opportunities with many of the artists will be available. All ticket pledges include all of the other KCPT membership benefits.

This weekend, performances by Celtic Woman and Yanni will be aired on KCPT on Saturday, May 2 and Sunday, May 3 at 8 p.m., respectively. The concerts will be preceded with a line-up of signature how-to programs ranging from cooking to brain fitness.

For more information or to pledge for tickets, viewers should call 816-756-3580, ext. 4259, to leave their name, daytime call back phone number, and the performance in which they are interested. Calls to this line will be returned by the end of the next business day.
