KCPT Invites Families To Join the KCPT Kids Club
KCPT Kids Club Features a New Friend and the KCPT Kids News

(KANSAS CITY)—Kansas City kids grow up with KCPT and are better off for doing so. KCPT now offers an opportunity for children and parents alike to share and enjoy through the KCPT Kids Club.
KCPT Kids aims to provide educational children's programming for Kansas City kids and services such as workshops for parents and childcare providers. The new KCPT Kids Club emerged from the efforts to combine the programming and services KCPT provides for parents and children.
Just this year, with the help of Bazillion Pictures, KCPT introduced the new KCPT Kids mascot, P.T., an inquisitive 7-year-old owl. P.T. and his friend K.C., a book with all the answers, have made their home in KCPT Kids' daytime block. Each week, the two animated friends focus on literary messages through a variety of spots, which have kids making crafts, getting active, and traveling around the Kansas City community on a video field trip. P.T. and K.C. are about to expand their reach through the KCPT Kids News, a monthly newspaper written for and by kids.
KCPT Kids News will include articles, educational activities and resources for children of all ages. It will provide tips for kids on recycling, reading, healthy eating and staying active. It will also feature a section specifically for parents! Membership is free to Kansas City area children, and all members of the KCPT Kids Club will receive the KCPT Kids News.
The first issue of KCPT Kids News for May/June will be delivered to schools, daycares and online subscribers on May 15. Also in May, P.T. will be making appearances at the "Kansas City Literary Festival" at the Country Club Plaza on May 17, and the "Kansas City Jiggle Jam" at the Crown Center Square on May 24 and May 25.
