KCPT Programs Feature Both Sides of the Stem Cell Debate

(KANSAS CITY) Supporters say it's about finding cures for our most debilitating diseases, opponents claim it's morally unacceptable research that compromises the earliest of human life. This week, proponents and detractors of the Missouri Stem Cell Amendment debate the issues in an hour-long Kansas City Week in Review Election one-hour special airing Friday Nov. 3 at 7:30 p.m.

The program will be Rebroadcast Sunday at 11 a.m.

Guests include State Senator Matt Bartle, architect of several bills designed to criminalize embryonic stem cell research in Missouri; Dr. Bob Onder, Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine, Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis; Sandra Aust, Outreach Coordinator, Coalition for Lifesaving Cures and Jeff McCaffrey, former Air Force Academy cadet who was paralyzed from the waist down in a motor vehicle accident.

The Stem Cell vote will also be prominent in discussions with Dr. Bill Neaves, CEO Stowers Institute on TALKBACK LIVE with Steve Rose Wednesday, Nov. 1 at 7 p.m. on KCPT.
