(KANSAS CITY)—Carrying on a tradition that began in 2000, the KCPT production, Uniquely Kansas City returns to KCPT. The new series is comprised of four seasonally-themed programs about the local arts scene, premiering on Thursday, May 15 at 8 p.m.

In the first installment, hosts Randy Mason and Steph Suetos will meet Eric Rosen, the new Artistic Director at the KC Rep, and visit the Alvin Ailey Dance Theatre's new home. They'll learn more about the Kansas City Chorale's five Grammy nominations, and the highlights of the Hallmark Photo Collection, now housed at the Nelson-Atkins Museum.

Three seasonal programs will follow, also showcasing the wealth of music, theatre, dance and visual arts that make this town special. From downtown to the Crossroads, 18th & Vine to the suburbs, the metro is more alive than ever with talented, creative people whose works deserve to be seen.

A radio comedy troupe, a new performance space in Crown Center and art that appears in everything from wedding cakes to giant outdoor installations will also be featured as KCPT celebrates these and other arts activities that make this Uniquely Kansas City.

Uniquely Kansas City has been made possible by a generous grant from Jeannette Nichols and Fred & Lou Hartwig.

KCPT is a nonprofit, community-owned television station serving the greater Kansas City area that provides programming and services that entertain, educate and enrich the community. For more information about KCPT's programs and services go to www.KCPT.org.
