The Avett Brothers: The critically acclaimed American band was founded by brothers Scott and Seth Avett. Their performance at the McKittrick Hotel includes 2009’s hit “I and Love and You,” as well as selections from the band’s eighth studio album, Magpie and the Dandelion, which reached No. 5 on the U.S. Billboard Top 200 Albums chart.
The Avett Brothers, who released Magpie and the Dandelion in October 2013, brought their bluegrass sound to the McKittrick Hotel. Scott Avett offered up his thoughts on the series saying, “Our taping for Front and Center was the most intimate set we’ve played in NYC in recent memory. It was such a great experience.” The Avett Brothers perform “Down With The Shine” in this excerpt from the episode, airing tonight at 10 pm on KCPT2.
Front and Center is back for a third season Thursdays at 10 pm on KCPT2 with 11, one-hour episodes and an all-star line-up of British and American artists that have collectively received 35 Grammy nominations and sold over 80 million albums worldwide.
