The music of The Moody Blues has spanned many generations – touching people’s emotions with songs about life experiences. This enduring quality and the band’s beloved status among fans are truly evident in THE MOODY BLUES AT THE ROYAL ALBERT HALL, a concert taped live in 2000. For this special, The Moody Blues partnered with Musical Director Larry Baird, conductor of the World Festival Orchestra. The band performed many of their classic hits in this iconic London venue such as “Nights in White Satin,” “The Story in Your Eyes” and “Tuesday Afternoon.”

Since the 2002 release of his intimate debut album, The Creek Drank The Cradle, Sam Beam — who records and performs under the name Iron and Wine — has established himself as one of the preeminent storytellers in music. His 2004 sophomore album, Our Endless Numbered Days, was a critical success and led to a busy 2005, in which Beam released two EPs (including one with fellow Artists Den alums Calexico). In 2007, The Shepherd’s Dog was in the Top Ten of Paste Magazine’s list of the year’s 100 best albums. January 2011 saw the release of Iron and Wine’s fourth album, Kiss Each Other Clean. The effort is Beam’s first with Warner Bros Records, and continues Iron and Wine’s evolution from its lo-fi roots to an expanded sound, featuring a full seven-piece band accompanying Beam’s signature understated vocals.

The Priests (three priests from Northern Ireland — Eugene O’Hagan, his brother Martin O’Hagan and David Delargy) are practicing Roman Catholic priests who were brought together by their faith and passion for music and who grew up singing together while also studying for the priesthood. All in their late forties, they have spent their lives using music to spread the word of God, finding time between their busy jobs to sing together. In an amazing twist of fate, they were asked to record a demo which landed in the lap of Epic Records’ Managing Director Nick Raphael, who signed them on the spot, ultimately giving The Priests a worldwide audience to spread their message and music.
KCPT would like to thank these generous sponsors, who made this event possible:
