Perhaps the one that will end up having the deepest effect is the sequester. The sequester clipped almost everybody: the Air Force, NASA, and the FBI to name a few. It also cost 57,000 low-income children slots in Head Start.
We sent KCPT’s Special Correspondent Sam Zeff to see how local Head Start programs are coping. Just this week, Head Start officials from all around the country met in Washington to urge Congress to restore funding for the program. Few are optimistic that Congress will find the money.
