A new crop of amateur bakers invade the tent in pursuit of being named Star Baker. The Great British Baking Show, the food show phenomenon in the U.S. and abroad, returns for a fourth season on June 16.
Known as much for its perfect “scrummy” patisseries as for its “soggy bottom” failures, the baking competition will air Friday nights at 8 p.m. This upcoming season on PBS was the most recently aired in the UK, and it received the highest-ever viewership for the series.
Follow the trials and tribulations of passionate amateur bakers whose goal is to be named the U.K.’s best. Each week, the bakers tackle a different skill, the difficulty of which increases as the competition unfolds. Mary Berry, a leading cookbook writer, and Paul Hollywood, a top artisan baker, serve as judges.
The Great British Baking Show follows amateur bakers from diverse backgrounds who tackle culinary trials that increase in difficulty as the competition unfolds. In each episode, challenges come in three categories: a Signature Bake, to test the contestants’ creative flair and baking ability; a Technical Bake, in which challengers receive basic recipes with ingredient lists and minimal instruction; and the Showstopper Bake, designed to display depth of skill and talent.
Passport Members will have access to 10 episodes of Season 4 on Friday, June 16, 2017 at 9PM ET. This is the same time as the series premiere and will provide activated members the ability to begin watching the entire series at the time of the first episode’s broadcast release.
