Once again, this summer’s TEDxKC was a huge success. Crowds filled not only Helzberg Hall, but also the Muriel Kauffman Theatre where the event was being simulcast. Both audiences saw and heard a group of speakers and performers address this year’s theme – “Defy Impossible.”
KCPT has compiled the night’s highlights into a 2-hour special. From Wayne White’s “Art Is Embarrassing” to the music of Peter Mulvey, the human flight of Alastair Macartney, and the “Black Girls Code” as revealed by Kimberly Bryant, the 2013 line-up is filled with ideas worth spreading.
“In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, selforganized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x=independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.”
