Kansas City's Most Wanted

It may be a small detail you recognize...a familiar vehicle, a facial feature, an item of clothing. KCPT partners with Crime Stoppers to re-enact several of the metro's most notorious unsolved crimes in hopes it will trigger new leads that will bring these cold cases to a close.

Kansas City's Most Wanted premieres on KCPT Thursday, May 22nd at 8pm. One case features the unsolved murder of 56-year-old Darmon Parker, found shot to death in the driveway of his Kansas City, MO home in 2006. A $25,000 reward is being offered in the case.

Another unsolved homicide comes from Kansas City, KS. Kia Vang, 63, was stabbed to death nearly seven years ago. The television show will re-enact Vang's movements in an effort to encourage new information in this cold case. A cash reward of $1,000 is being offered for information that would lead to an arrest.

Independence, MO police are looking for help in the murder of Lakota Renville whose body was found stabbed to death in a vacant lot in 2005.

Each re-enactment is scrutinized by the actual detectives who worked the case. Many of the crimes featured include interviews with family members and witnesses along with officers and detectives who have firsthand knowledge of the case.

Every TV station in Kansas City is supporting KCPT and Crime Stoppers in this remarkable public service project. The show will air on TV stations across the metro in May.
