Harry S. Truman
 
 


Truman Truman became the 33rd president of the United States on April 12th 1945 following the death of President Franklin D. Roosevelt. World War II was coming to a close, but still many significant events would occur over the course of the next several months that mark Harry Truman as an important figure during World War II. The surrender of Germany, the decision to drop the Atomic Bomb and finally the capitulation of Japan - all will be remembered as historical milestones under Harry S. Trumanís leadership.
