Beer Ditty
view the beer brewing process

Here's an easy rhyme to say.
If it’s beer you make today

The fun’s begun in a mash lauter tun,
where water and malted barley
Are blended into what’s called mash,
It’s texture is quite gnarly.

Sparging is what next we do,
squeezing syrup from the mash.
This sweet, clear liquid is called wort
the rest is naught but trash.

The wort, in short, is kettle-boiled
Where bittering hops are added.
The hops are plopped in pellet form,
but look! they have expanded.

The wort is cooled, the yeast thrown in
And so begins fermentation
Transforming the wort nto a flavorful sort:
an OHCO2 combination.

The beer is now aged to develop its taste;
And filtered and stored in a tank
And then over time, put in bottles or kegs
Or some container from which it is drank

And so ends here our song of cheer
I hope it’s clear, that we love beer!
