For as long as I can remember, one favored getaway was some trip to the Ozarks. So, when producer Mike Murphy talked to me about shooting the video for this Ozark's show, I was interested. That is, until he mentioned we might be on the road 80 days. That's almost 3 months, and over a period of a year and a half, that's a lot of time ON THE ROAD. All of a sudden, it wasn't so enticing. But as it turned out, I was on the road for only 69 days, so my worries were all for naught. To break it down further, I was on the clock 720 hours and away from home 1,107 hours. From the beginning we wanted to take this show to the next level. We wanted the final product to have the quality and look of a network program. To this end, we used professional color filters in front of the lens which really made the scenes look stunning. When we did pans of the landscape and the mountains, we shot those pans until they were smooth and flawless. I tried to give the lighting for the interviews a distinct look. We worked on the lighting for each interview until we were satisfied we could do no more. All in all, it was a great shoot and I have only one regret --that the trips to the Ozarks are over for awhile. |
